Biography
Samia Hield is a junior at Philander Smith University, where she majors in Marketing. She leads projects that help her community, support environmental sustainability, and empower students. As President of the Dr. Mary L. Williams Chapter of the National Association of Colored Women’s Clubs and founder of the Panthers Outdoors Club, she mentors students and organizes programs for women and marginalized groups. Samia is interested in digital marketing, entrepreneurship, and technology. She is learning more about computer science and artificial intelligence to encourage financial independence and spark innovation. Originally from Nassau, Bahamas, she wants to create opportunities for others and make a positive impact through leadership and education.

I also joined the SURE Internship Program, where I completed Cisco networking courses and earned C++ certifications, giving me hands-on experience with programming and technical systems. These experiences have prepared me for professional roles in computer science. I am now looking for a summer internship to keep growing my skills in programming, computational science, and research.
