Percia Burrows is a junior at Philander Smith University, majoring in Mathematics and Computer Science. Deeply passionate about the natural world, she serves as Vice President of Panthers Outdoor, where she encourages her peers to appreciate and protect the environment. As a freshman, Percia co-founded an organization called Campus Cultivators, stemming from a service project that she felt deserved to extend beyond just one semester. Determined to honor the time and effort invested, she and a group of dedicated students transformed the initiative into a sustainable organization focused on maintaining a flourishing campus garden. This project not only provides students with fresh produce for their meals but also fosters a sense of connection and responsibility towards the natural world. In addition to her environmental efforts, Percia proudly represents Philander Smith University as an ambassador, highlighting the vibrant community of her campus. She is also actively involved in the executive boards of several organizations, further demonstrating her commitment to leadership and community engagement.
