Motivation
I'm Nana Akwasi Owusu Addai, a Computer Science sophomore at Grambling State University. I want to join the SRP program because I believe I will be able to work on real-world projects that have impact on people's lives. Also, I will get the opportunity to learn from professors and other knowledgeable researchers and this will go a long way to help my professional career. The prospect of having the skills to work with Artificial Intelligence and also high-performance computing is something I'm really looking forward to. Over the months, I've gained knowledge in programming, specifically Python, Java, JavaScript and have been able to apply these skills to build projects that have real-world impact. At SRP, I will get the chance to apply these technical knowledge on Artificial Intelligence models and Machine Learning Algorithms. I value team work so much and during the program I will be able to collaborate with peers and experienced researchers and professors to build AI models that will impact lives. This is something I'm absolutely looking forward to pursuing. One thing I really value too is community and career development activities. At SRP, I will be exposed to mentors who will give me guidance on research methods, work feedback, and help me to overall become a better person. Eventually, I want to use the skills I have acquired and the relationships I have built through SRP to develop technology that is just, environmentally friendly, and which addresses the real needs of the local community.
